"Borrowed Time" is a single release from Styx's 1979 triple-platinum album Cornerstone. The track was penned by Tommy Shaw and Dennis DeYoung. The music was by Shaw and the lyrics by DeYoung. The track would serve as the opening song on the band's 1979/1980 Grand Decathlon Tour (which was the tour name for the Cornerstone tour). Then the track would serve as the first encore on the band's 1981/82 Paradise Theatre tour.
