Borovica is the small place in the middle of Bosnia and Herzegovina, situated near the old medieval castle Bobovac, the residence of Croatian kings in Bosnia. In the Middle Ages this place is famous with its mining industry, and the origin of the people of this place is connected with the coming of miners from Germany, from the region of Saxony. The first written document about this place is from the year 1673. The document talks about the visit of bishop and confirmation of 19 people. During the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, this Croatian place was destroyed and devastated from the Muslim extremists and the ihabitants took refuge in other countries. The few people returned back after the war and in the year 1991. there was 1511 habitants now only more than 100 people. In the year 2001 was built the new church and the place try to revive.
