King Boromaracha v(Sanskrit: Paramaraja), also known as Suriyas Amarin or Ekathat (Ekadashna means one-eyed), Thai: สมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวพระที่นั่งสุริยาสน์อมรินทร์ (พระเจ้าเอกทัศน์), ruled from 1758-1767, and was the last king of the Ayutthaya kingdom. The royal line of Ayuthaya lasted over a period of 400 years and came to an end with the sacking of the capital city. The name "Suriyas Amarin" or "Suriyamarin" came from the name of one of the thrones of the kings of Ayutthaya named "Suriyasna Amarin" (Suriya-Sun, Asna-Seat).
In Toung Oo, Burma he is known as Maha Dammaiyaza. New sources in Malaysia said that the royal line did not end there. The last Ayutthayan king went to Nakhon Sri Thammarat and later to Kedah (Saiburi), which was part of his former kingdom. Soon after, Taksin (governor of Tak) an Ayutthayan military tactician and strategist, eventually drove the Burmese out and founded the Kingdom of Thonburi. According to Thai historical text, Boromaracha V died soon after the fall of Ayutthaya in the area near the ruined capital.
