Borna as a town is more than 750 years old.
Modern history of Borna was enriched with the story of transporting the church from the neighboring Heuersdorf to Borna. Late October 2007 the 14th century romanesque building of Emmaus Church in Heuersdorf (12km or 7mil from Borna) was cut from the ground and relocated in Martin Luther Square of Berna [1].
