Born to Mack is a 1987 album by Too Short. This is Too Short's first major album release. This album was re-released by Jive Records after the success of Life Is...Too Short. It was originally released in the summer of 1987 by Dangerous Music. It was later re-released by Jive Records in 1988 and 1989. This album came out a year before Too Short's signing with Jive. After signing with Jive, the first release was Life Is...Too Short in 1988 which also was re-released in 1989. This album feature sexually explicit lyrics over strong bass lines. Such examples of lyrics could be the very comical Allan Wee track describing the singer's aspiration to put his penis on somebody's passed-out face. It was eventually certified Gold. In 1998, the album was selected as one of The Source Magazine's 100 Best Rap Albums and the song "Freaky Tales" reached #92 on the 100 Greatest Rap Songs. The album art was redone by another Bay rapper, Bailey, this time using a red version of the car, and using gold Daytons.
