Boris Zhitkov

Boris Stepanovich Zhitkov, Russian Борис Степанович Житков (18821938) was Russian children's author, his works included numerous books in which he, in a figurative form, described various professions. In 1916 - 1924 he was a sailor, later a ship captain. He is best known for the hugely successful children's travel book What I Saw (Что Я Видел) about summer vacation adventures of a curious little boy nicknamed Pochemuchka.
