Boris Mihovilovic Sokol

Boris Mihoviloviċ Sokol is a painter, born 31 May 1957, in Srednje Selo on the Croatian island of Šolta. Since 1980, he has lived in Offenbach am Main, in Germany. His first exhibition took place in 1983, in Frankfurt am Main.
In the years that followed, he learned the techniques of old masters (mostly by copying Vermeer van Delft) and experimented in different techniques of egg and emulsion tempera of early Italian painters. Through gradually finding his own painting style, he has returned to the technique of pure oil on canvas.
He held one-man exhibitions in Offenbach, Bad Würzbach, Giesen, Hoffheim, Schwalbach and Frankfurt am Main, and he participated in several group exhibitions in Germany and Croatia.
His atelier is in Srednje Selo, his birthplace, on Šolta.
