Borgund, Sogn og Fjordane

Borgund is a former municipality in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway.
Borgund was separated from Lærdal in 1864 - but again merged with Lærdal January 1, 1964.
Borgund is known for its famous stave church called Borgund stave church. The village is situated in the end of the Sognefjorden.
The centre of Borgund is called Steinklepp, which has a store, a bank and a school.
