Borgorose is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rieti in the Italian region Latium, located about 70 km northeast of Rome and about 40 km southeast of Rieti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,541 and an area of 148.8 km².[1]
The municipality of Borgorose contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Cartore, Castelmenardo, Collemaggiore, Colleviati, Colorso, Corvaro, Collefegato, Grotti, Pagliara, Poggiovalle, Ponte Civitella, Santa Anatolia, Santo Stefano, Spedino, Torano, Villerose, and Villette.
Borgorose borders the following municipalities: L'Aquila, Lucoli, Magliano de' Marsi, Pescorocchiano, Sante Marie, Tornimparte.
