[edit] Bio:

Bored Gordon are a rock band from Auckland, New Zealand's North Shore.
Simon Mallett and Marc Emery used to play in Dozer with Kieran Treeby and Matt Short.
When the band members of Dozer went their separate ways with Kieran going to Germany and Matt focusing on his other project Bolbox Rex, Simon and Matt reformed with Paul Ni on bass and Nick Crighton on drums.
They recorded their first demo at the end of 2003 featuring the following tracks: If I Were You, Diane, Out Of It, She's Been Gone, Anything, Mazzy and I Got.
Another demo soon followed including rerecordings of the tracks If I Were You, Out Of It, She's Been Gone and the new Peter Pan. This would be polished later that year and become the peter pan ep.
The release of the peter pan ep was supported by regular gigs at The Ambassador and The Kings Arms, including headlining several Kaleidoscope World showcases and the national finals of the World Battle Of The Bands.[1].
This hard work gave them their first opportunity for a music video and the peter pan video, in collaboration with CPO[2], ensued. More tours of New Zealand were completed, including openings for Deja Voodoo.
The band went back into the studio for recording of their debut album lie if you have to... (2005), which was released later that year on Powertool Records. The album featured a reworking of Diane, as well as the Dozer-era psychedelic jam Daily Basis. It was championed with the college radio hit Seaside Suicide. A promotional video was shot with the help of Auckland's Media Design School and the band followed up with live appearances on music shows, including Top Of The Pops. The band also played several dates in Australia at the end of the year to support the album.
With Kieran's return from Germany, he reclaimed his place behind the skins and the band has regained the noticeably punchier and tighter sound that Dozer were once known for.
The band are currently in the studio, working on their followup album.
