Tyne Valley Line

The Border Counties Railway was a railway line in Northumberland. It was opened by the North British Railway on July 1, 1862, and connected the Tyne Valley Line near Hexham with the Waverley Route at Riccarton Junction, just over the Scottish border.

The line was closed to passengers by British Railways on October 15, 1956. Part of the line is now beneath the surface of Kielder Water.
