Borøy

Borøy is a 3.4 km² island in the municipality of Tvedestrand in Aust-Agder, Norway. Townships include Sandvika, Borøkilen, Utgårdstrand and Snarsund. Ancient written works often spell the name with an "e" (e.g. Berøy). The origin of the name could be derived from Old Norse beri, bjørn or bær. Borøy is known for the spectacular reefs and the boat and bathpossibilities.
