Boom in the Moon is a 1946 science fiction comedy film starring Buster Keaton. It was originally filmed and released in Mexico, and was directed and written by Jaime Salvador. It also starred Luis G. Barreiro, Guillermo Bravo Sosa, and the leading female star Angel Garasa. In the film, Keaton is lost at sea toward the end of World War II and lands in Mexico, but thinks he has landed in Japan. He is mistakened for a wanted criminal, imprisoned, and sentenced to death. But a scientist intervenes on his behalf and offers him to fly an atomic rocket to the moon. But the rocket lands in southern Mexico, and Keaton thinks he has landed on the moon. The natives think he has gone insane, but everything is straightened out in the end.
