[edit] Advice
Well, you have to create User:StatusBot/Status/Bonzai273 (don't worry, I already did this for you). Last, you have to put both {{Statustop}} and {{User:StatusBot/Template}} on your user page. Then, you're done! Limetolime talk to me • look what I did! 14:55, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright vios
Please don't revert me when I'm trying to clean up blatant copyright violations, it's most unhelpful...Sarah 07:08, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Please be patient. I am currently in the process of writing a message for the article's talk page and trying to sort through nearly 500 edits. It's not the easiest (or quickest) thing to do and I would ask you to AGF when an administrator uses the edit summary "copy vio". You could have googled a couple of sentences yourself and seen that all that promotional rubbish was lifted straight of the school's website with just the pronouns changed. I'm going to restore right now (and was in the process of doing so when I got this orange banner) the last clean version which is the short stub I reverted to before. Then if you give me a chance I am going to look through the nearly 500 edits and see if I can find a better, longer version to restore without major slabs of copyvio text. Sarah 07:22, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's alright. It's just a bit tricky because there was another selective deletion previously done by another administrator because of slabs of copyvio text and it's just a bit time consuming making sure I don't restore the copyvios. A few lines or whatever are okay because we can just remove them regularly but when large sections are just copy and pasted they need to be removed. Yes, I created that guys account. The school's IP is blocked due to vandalism and I am a moderator of the unblock list. He wrote wanting us to unblock the school's IP but because of the vandalism history we couldn't unblock it so I created the account for him. He has a conflict of interest anyway and really should leave that article to others. I mean, he was using himself for the citations...*sigh* Sarah 08:00, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Anyway, I've restored most of the history up to where he started editing recently and I'm going through the more recent edits now. Sarah 08:04, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- I know you won't be very happy but I think that's just about all I can restore. If you look at the school's site - http://www.jisedu.org/site/main.php?sWidth=1280&sHeight=800 you will see what I mean. The second paragraph on the first page is word for word what our introduction was (you might recognise it because you made edits to that text!) and the whole page on the Middle School's mission is word-for-word what we had. The rest of the material he added was either lifted from that site of totally original research, i.e. information he's come up with himself that is unpublished and unverifiable. Sarah 08:35, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. I didn't realise you were a student there, sorry about that. I would have explained things more at the start if I'd known that but I didn't realise. I can block someone from editing Wikipedia period and I can make it so that an article can't be edited but I can't block someone from one article only. Why? Is there someone who needs to be blocked? [edit] Statustop template: alternate updating method
SoxBot V has been taken offline indefinitely, therefore {{Statustop}} now uses a semi-manual updating method taking the status from Special:Mypage/Status. You can use the Qui monobook script written by TheDJ to update this page at the click of a button.
Certain parameters are no longer used, so you may wish to check the documentation of the Statustop template to ensure you are using it properly. Please feel free to drop by my talk page with any questions or concerns or to report problems with the template. Happy editing, xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 14:01, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
