May 23, 1934 -- Clyde Champion Barrow and Bonnie Parker, were shot to death by officers in an ambush near Sailes, Bienville Parish, Louisiana after one of the most colorful and spectacular manhunts the U.S. had yet seen. Barrow was suspected of numerous killings and was wanted for murder, robbery, and kidnapping.
An amateur photographer filmed the aftermath of the roadside ambush. Their car was thoroughly riddled with bullets. Bonnie is hunched over leaning on her companion.
