It is located next to the suburbs of Jacka, Amaroo and Forde and is bounded by Horse Park Drive.
The north is dominated by Oak Hill, which is 800 meters high with a trig point on top. However this is outside the suburb boundary, and the high point is 715 meters on the north boundary. The suburb slopes to the south, with creeks draining water south to Ginninderra Creek over in Forde. The lowest point is 624 meters on the southernmost point of Bonner.
[edit] Geology
Rocks in Bonner are from the late middle Silurian period and are called Canberra Formation. They are mostly slatey shale and mudstone. A band of dacite follows a ridge in the north east direction in the western third. Also ashstone occurs on a hill top in the north west corner of Bonner.[1]
