Boney Peak, also known as Mt. Boney to local residents, is a mountain in Point Mugu State Park in the western Santa Monica Mountains, located in Southern California, USA. At 2,825 feet, it is the fourth highest peak in the range. Its rocky faces, crags, and sides give it its name. The peak is accessible through the western edge of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, and Rancho Sierra Vista in Newbury Park, California. In the canyon at the foot of the mountain's north face is a waterfall and cascade with an approximate 70 foot drop. The waterfall is a 3 mile hike from the trailhead on Potrero Rd Newbury Park. This trail is a side trail from the main trail to the summit of Boney Peak. The waterfall's source is Big Sycamore Creek, which has carved many of the geological features of Boney Mountain's north face, and continues to carve the canyon today.
