Eponym Valentin Bondarenko

Bondarenko is a lunar crater on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the northeast of the large Tsiolkovskiy crater, and south of Chauvenet crater. Just to the northeast of Bondarenko is 'Patsaev G', a comparably-sized satellite of Patsaev crater to the west. This is a moderately worn crater formation with a slightly irregular floor. There are a few small craterlets along the inner wall and the interior.

It is named for Valentin Bondarenko (1937-1961), an early Soviet cosmonaut killed in a training simulator accident.
