Bonab County

Bonab County (Persian: شهرستان بناب) is a county in East Azarbaijan Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Bonab which is located on the east bank of the Urmia lake and has extremely nice sunsets.

It is the hometown of Ashu Zartosht who was the prophet of Iran 5000 years ago. He named the god's name on his lands so we can find the "Hormazada/Khormazard" named village near this spot, and other ancient name are "Mehrabad", "Gazavosht", "Iravosht/Iranvich", "Zavosht".

This city is the major political center and has key strategic value in the Azerbaijan region. It was a candidate to receive the NICE CITES medal, among 5 cities in world for 2002-2003, from the UNESCO organization. Bonab is the city of Bicycle. Almost every family in Bonab has a bicycle.[citation needed]

The worse history of the Iran is rape of the Mongolia to Iran. The Bonabian defended the enemy by last drops.
