Bon Soo Winter Carnival

The Bon Soo Winter Carnival is an annual winter carnival in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. The carnival began in 1964, and has grown to become one of Ontario's top 50 festivals. In 2007, it will be held from 2 February to 11 February, and will include events like the Fantasy Kingdom ice sculptures and a polar bear swim.
The Bon Soo Winter Carnival is a remnant of French Canadian culture, tracing its roots back to the Montreal Carnivale. The carnivale is named after its beloved mascot Bon Soo, which also looks much like Bonhomme de Neige.
