The Bon Accord St Nicholas Shopping Centre (formerly The Bon Accord Shopping Centre Aberdeen & The St. Nicholas Shopping Centre) is the largest shopping centre in Aberdeen, Scotland and the city has for centuries been the main shopping destination for a huge catchment area. Since opening (St Nicholas 1985, Bon Accord 1990) the Bon Accord-St Nicholas Centre has formed the prime retailing area in Aberdeen. The centre is split in to two buildings and has altogether three floors extending to 630,000 sq ft over two levels. Parking is attached with around 500 spaces and disabled and parent/child spaces are available. The Centre was built in a serpentine shape to maximize shop unit frontage and is covered by a barrel vaulted glazed roof with a 90-ft high glazed dome.

[edit] Anchor Stores

The centre is anchored by John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Boots New Look and Woolworths. Other stores include The Body Shop, River Island, GAME, Currys.digital, zavvi and W H Smith.

[edit] Improvement Plans

The two centres are set to make huge improvements in the forthcoming years as part of the Aberdeen Masterplan.

The Carphone Warehouse is to move from its existing small store to a new larger store previously occupied by Clothing store Bite, which has now moved to The Academy.

Next will open a new store roughly the same size of New Look's store, in June 2009 after construction work to accommodate them finishes. This will include 300 new car parking spaces, and a new entrance fronting onto the Gallowgate.

The plan in the long term for the bon Accord/St Nicholas Centre is to transform the 1st floor of St Nicholas into covered retail space, and a second floor with a food terrace. Whilst the bon accord centre will be extended across Loch street to join onto John Lewis, and will offer double height retail units.
