[edit] Image Tagging Image:EAPC.PNG
|
Thanks for uploading Image:EAPC.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sue Anne 01:45, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Style tips
Hi. Just a few suggestions. One is that it is good to use an edit summary, it is helpful for others who see your changes. And two, per the math style manual one should make the variables italic, like a instead of a. Small things. :) Welcome! Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 18:24, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Color Key for Image:West.png
What do the different colors on Image:West.png stand for? Could you provide a key or caption on the image page itself? Thank you! Kim Bruning 13:10, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Note
Please add any comments you may have on talk pages, and not in articles. Thanks. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 03:49, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Alle spoorlijnen elektrificatie.PNG
Thanks for uploading Image:Alle spoorlijnen elektrificatie.PNG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Please use edit summaries
Please use edit summaries to briefly describe your edits, not just to justify edits that you think people might disagree with. Indeed, if you really expect people to disagree with an edit, it might be better to discuss on the talk-page first. —RuakhTALK 21:04, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry if I didn't do that. Can you say where? Bombshell 12:40, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Looking through your past 100 contributions (via Special:Contributions/Bombshell), it seems that you've typed only 10 edit summaries; so, it seems that about 90% of the time, you're not doing that. (As for discussing on the talk-page — of the edits I've looked at, none seem so controversial as to warrant that. I just wanted to note that, at least in theory, edit summaries aren't intended as a forum for discussion, because the only way to reply to an edit summary is to revert the edit and include one's own edit-summary reply, and Wikipedia prefers to avoid revert wars. You can ignore that part of my comment if you already know that; you don't seem to have erred on that front, but I wanted to head that off in case you were heading in that direction.) —RuakhTALK 15:25, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. I'm watching your talk-page (for the moment, anyway), so you don't need to double-post your replies; you can just post them here, and I'll see them. :-) —RuakhTALK 15:25, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, no problem

[edit] sock blocks
Govert Miereveld (talk · contribs), Scavenger (talk · contribs) and yourself are clearly the same user, as proved by your editing patterns. Please see our WP:SOCK policy which states that it is strictly forbidden to use more than one account on a single dispute in an attempt to create the impression of more support for your own position. I have indef-blocked the other two accounts. You are free to continue contributing with this one (or choose one of the two others and have this one blocked instead.) Fut.Perf. ☼ 08:17, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
I am sorry but I am not Govert nor Scavenger.
- Since you are still refusing to admit to your sockpuppetry, still continuing to edit-war on the same issues under the same attempt at deception ([1]), and as you have actually started up a new block-evading sock (IamScavenger (talk · contribs)), I am now blocking you for 1 week. This block will be up for review at WP:ANI for others to check. Fut.Perf. ☼ 21:56, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Megatron
Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Megatron. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Thank you. -- JediLofty User ¦ Talk 18:21, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 3RR
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on 2008 Summer Olympics torch relay. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. – PeterCX&Talk 18:37, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Blanking in 2008 Summer Olympics torch relay /1/
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from 2008 Summer Olympics torch relay. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. [edit] 3RR Rule
Please refrain from repeatedly undoing other people's edits, as you are doing in 2008 Summer Olympics torch relay. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. The three-revert rule (3RR) prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, please discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. Dustitalk to me 19:55, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
You are in danger of violating the three-revert rule on 2008 Summer Olympics torch relay. Please cease further reverts or you may be blocked from editing. Dustitalk to me 20:07, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked
- I don't really care what the argument is about - you clearly violated WP:3RR, and now you're using an IP address to circumvent your block. That's called sockpuppetry. When your block expires, you may discuss the issue on the talk page before continuing to make changes to the article. If discussion doesn't work, seek dispute resolution before edit warring. To request an unblock, you should use the template {{unblock}} as is specified in your block message. Hersfold (t/a/c) 21:28, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
