This species is endemic to the Kiwi Seamount (approximately longitude 174° East, latitude 31° South), north of New Zealand.

[edit] Habitat

This top shell is found at depths of between 540 and 680 m.

[edit] Shell description

The shell is of medium size, solid, conical, with canaliculate sutures, imperforate, but there is a broad smooth concave basal area, bounded by a ridge. Sculpture consists of two prominent nodular spiral keels, and many weaker spirals, rendered granulose by growth lines. The operculum is oval, callused, with coarse spirals around the periphery, and with indistinct broad flat pustules over the central area.

Shell coloration is dull light brown, and the callus is nacreous.

The shell height is up to 31 mm, and the width is up to 30 mm.
