Bollnäs Municipality (Bollnäs kommun) is a municipality in Gävleborg County, east central Sweden. Its seat is located in Bollnäs.
The municipality evolved during a series of local government reforms in the 1950-ies and 1970-ies. It consists of six original entities and has its present shape since 1977.

The town is located alongside the river Ljusnan, which follows the path of the northern main line railway (Norra Stambanan). Some kilometer south, Ljusnan is intersected by the river Voxnan.
Around the town are several water areas with fish such as trout, bass and pike. The streams Ljusnan and Voxnan also offer fishing, as does the tributary lake Vågen in Bollnäs.
Nature reserves: Grossjöberget, Galvån, Kölberget, Hästhagsberget, Djupsjön-Römmaberget.

Some well known people from Bollnäs are Gösta "Snoddas" Nordgren (in Sweden known for his singing and playing Bandy) and Victoria Silvstedt (former Playboy Playmate of the Year).
