Bole, Xinjiang

Bole (Börtala) (Traditional Chinese: 博樂; Simplified Chinese: 博乐; pinyin: Bólè; Uyghur: بۆرتالا, Börtala, Bɵrtala) is a county-level city in Xinjiang. The area is 7517 km² and the total population is 403,700 (2003). Bortala is Mongolian and means "silvery grasslands". Bole is the seat of Börtala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, which borders to Kazakhstan. Bole has a railway connection to Urumqi.
