User talk:Bok269

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi Bok269, I have noticed, that you left a message for Take Me Higher on the Lincoln Continental talk page. Just a little heads up, (I don't know if you know this already, but...) the best way to ask a user something in regards to his edits is by going to his talk page and leaving a message there. Having one-on-one discussions is best done on user talk pages instead of article talk pages, as it can cause article talk pages to become exceesively long and exposes discussions between two users to the general reader. Also, in this case I have changed the wording on Take Me Higher's edit, as it was, like you said, confusing. Thank you for contributing. Best Regards, Signaturebrendel 20:45, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Architecture Wikiproject

I was wondering if you might be interested in joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Architecture. Also we've been revamping the Architecture Portal and nominations to Portal:Architecture/Selected picture candidates and Portal:Architecture/Selected article candidates will always be welcome.--Mcginnly 08:53, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

  • No problem - please read 'what you can do' on the wikiporject page - or you might like to select articles for nomination as selected article or selected picture on the portal.--Mcginnly 00:15, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject:Architecure Peer Review proposal

I'm trying to build a consensus for a Wikiproject Peer review process. I've opened a discussion page here. Would you like to comment? Would you be prepared to take part in the peer review process? Many thanks. --Mcginnly | Chinwag 12:28, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] IG Farben Building FAC

Also, I posted the IG Farben Building on the FAC on the 17th July. It currently has a support consensus, but only from 4 people. I'd be more comfortable with a stronger consensus and was wondering if you might be prepared to comment on the article? Many thanks. --Mcginnly | Chinwag 12:28, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject South Park

I have thought of creating a WikiProject for South Park since it is now near its' 10th anniversary and has more articles than ever. I feel we could all do the following things through this project:

  • Cleanup any short/poorly written/unformatted articles
  • Merge/lengthen the many character articles
  • Improve the South Park main page

I have seen your South Park fan template and wondered if you were interested in joining. If so reply to my talk page and I'll get back to you as quick as I can. Thanks, Mr. Garrison

[edit] Adoption

Hello Bok, based on the userbox you put on your userpage, you would like to be 'adopted' by an experienced user. I would be happy to help you out, if you would like me to. Please tell me if you would like me to adopt you, and let me know what you would like help with, and I will be happy to assist you. Happy editing! Prodego talk 02:30, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok! First things first, is there anything in particular you would like me to help you out with? Prodego talk 00:26, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Alright. Just a quick overview, there are three main areas of editing, the administrative(meaning the deletion debates and such, no need to be an admin), the article writing, and vandal fighting. If you want more info on any of these, just ask. Let me know if you need anything, or have any questions, and I'll help you out. Until then, happy editing! Prodego talk 20:18, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
The info on vandal fighting can be found at WP:VAND, and that page pretty much explains it all. Let me know if you have any questions, Prodego talk 15:17, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
It depends. If you are uploading freely licensed material, you should put it on Commons. An example of this would be if you were to take a photo of something that is not copyrighted (for example a mountain). If you are uploading something under fair use, it can be uploaded here, but this should be avoided whenever possible, and any fair use images uploaded must meet the Fair use criteria. Prodego talk 21:11, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
If you took them and don't mind if anyone can use them for free then you should probably upload them on the commons. However, it depends what the pictures are of, what is in the picture? Prodego talk 18:46, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Put them on commons then. You will have to register an account there as well (use the same username if possible) to upload. Prodego talk 01:05, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Automobiles Notification

Hi Bok269, you were on the list of members at WikiProject Automobiles and we are introducing a new way of listing members, as the old list was becoming too long. Our new method involves having all of our members in a category.

To add yourself to the category just add the userbox to your user page by putting {{Wiki Auto Project}} where you want the userbox. Alternatively if you don't like the userbox you can add [[Category:WikiProject Automobiles members|Bok269]] to your userpage.

If you no longer wish to be a member of the project, simply don't add the userbox or category, there's no pressure. Thanks for your time, James086Talk | Contribs 04:56, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
