As of 2001 India census,[2] Bokajan had a population of 14,938. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Bokajan has an average literacy rate of 74%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 80% and female literacy of 68%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Bokajan has Tea Gardening , Sitnola Gardening , Bamboo around it.It also have cultivated land area.
Cement Corporation of India Ltd (C.C.I) has one if its units here.It is government Undertaking Industry and main source of income in the town.It supports more than 300 families. C.C.I is one of the only two Industry in the Assam Valley and entire North East of India.
