Bohdan Boyko was a candidate in 2004 Ukrainian presidential election. He was nominated by the Movement of Ukrainian Patriots. Before 2002 he was a national deputy of Ukraine. Since 2002 he has been chair of the National Movement of Ukraine for Unity, which is one of the branches of former People's Movement of Ukraine of Vyacheslav Chornovil. He has never been a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He follows a nationalist policy, opposed to Ukrainian "oligarchs."
