Outstanding courses include history and physical education classes, taught at all three grade levels. An interesting facet of the elective classes is the existence of both traditional arts education and arts&crafts education. The arts&crafts elective focuses on found art and creative use of recycled materials.

The student population is diverse with most students living nearby. The majority of students are latino/latina. The teacher population is also diverse with teachers who have roots in Asia, Latin America and the United States.
