[edit] Re:cleanup
I'm not sure what actually needs to be cleaned up on the Spidey 3 article. It's in decent shape as is. It's been awhile since I've read through it all the way. Is the Spidey 3 article the only one you are interested in? Bignole 02:49, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- LOL, just a touch over zealous with the images. Images do not need to be sized so that a reader can see them easily on the article, by clicking the image you can automatically view it in a larger format. Bignole 03:04, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- Couple things. When adding information, you should always have a reliable source to back it up. Any speculation, "common knowledge", or rumors are considered original research. Wikipedia doesn't like Original research. Also, try not to sign your name after you edit. If you visit Erik's page, he has a lot of links to policies and guidelines for editing wikipedia, especially for fictional article pages. It would probably been a good idea to just skim through those. Some editors will get mad real quick over edits that don't follow the rules. One more thing, a good rule of thumb is that when you have an edit that is substantial (i.e. something that isn't simply copy editing, or rewording a sentence to sound better) it is best to go to the Talk page and discuss it with the other editors. Bignole 03:34, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] No problem
It's fine. Wikipedia's policies can be tricky to learn sometimes. General discussion isn't flat-out forbidden, but it's discouraged for the sake of focusing on improving articles. There are forums and community boards all over the Internet for all kinds of film discussion, you know? Wikipedia's trying to do something different here. If you have any questions about anything Wikipedia-related, let me know. Like Bignole indicated, my user page has links to various policies that you can read about. (Just don't do it in one sitting, haha.) Good luck on your editing endeavours. You'll have to pardon an article like Spider-Man 3; I think the group of editors that monitor the article (myself included) are rather hardasses when it comes to maintaining strong quality. You might find most other articles to be more lenient to edit, but if you want to learn real Wikipedia talent, just watch how we do. :) —Erik (talk • contrib) - 04:06, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- To be honest, I think Spider-Man 3 is in the tightest shape possible. However, the articles on Spider-Man's preceding films, Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, are not in as stellar shape. You could go to these articles and see what kind of improvements you could make. I'll try to help you along the way. It's always nice to have another hand. Again, any questions, you know how to reach me. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 04:15, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Talk Page
The talk page is a place about discussing what should be in the article and what shouldn't, or just improvements in general. Trust me, many editors will lash out for repeated "general forum discussions" that take place. Asking about who's in the film, or who dies, or similar types of things will cause issues, trust me I've seen it happen. From now on, if you have a question about what might happen in the film, I'd be glad to talk about it. I have no quams about discussing spoilers on my personal talk page. Let's just leave it off the article talk pages. Oh, to answer you question that rumor of Sandman's death via water is based on the trailer where you seem his arm being flushed with some kind of water flood. There hasn't been talk of his death outside of forums, and I highly doubt he'll die this way seeing as water and sand just make muddy sand. At best it would spread his sandy parts everywhere. Bignole 20:24, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your edit to Spider-Man 3
Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 03:15, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- "Her boobs are nice!" is nonsense and unencyclopedic. You are wearing out your welcome quickly, son. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 03:28, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Concern
I'm not sure what you're talking about, so I'm moving the discussion to your talk page. Can you clarify who you mean by "someone" and "they"? You can respond here; I have your page on my watchlist, so I'll know when you write a comment. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 03:51, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- If you have personal concern about the article, please talk to me or Bignole on our user talk pages. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 03:58, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Can I ask you a personal question? Are you diagnosed with anything? I don't want to sound rude, but your behavior has been incredibly unorthodox. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 04:05, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know if I can help you, or help "Erik understand", because you're losing me in the process. I'm not clear exactly what you are talking about when you say "this article will slip if wiki editors don't keep watching". What is going to slip? When have we not been watching? Bignole 04:09, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- There are thousands of editors on Wikipedia, I sincerely doubt that people will stop watching the Spider-Man 3 page, you can rest easy. Bignole 13:49, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Spider-man 3
Please stop editing the talk page of Spiderman 3 with nonsense and hostile edits. Three editors are ALL trying to help you understand how wikipedia works. We are providing you with resources to read, and reasons for why we do things. You continue to ignore us, confront us, and generally act in a way that resembles 'being a jerk'. Please follow the links provided for you. Those pages really DO explain a lot. Further, try reviewing the page's edit history back 500 or 1000 edits, to see how working co-operatively have prevented vandalism, and improved the article. Unfortunately, after multiple requests for co-operation, if you do not try to work with others, we will be forced to pursue administrative ssistance in restraining your edits. ThuranX 04:50, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- As I said, your behavior is not making it easy to Assume good faith regarding your edits. Threatening to report me when I keep trying to encourage you to work WITH other editors is hardly the sort of behavior that makes such a thing easier. If you feel that being compared to a jerk, though not actually called one was mean, then try to work WITH other editors. You have repeatedly ignored the entreaties of others to work cooperatively. Once again, PLEASE try to work WITH other editors. ThuranX 05:24, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- No. 'giving you something to edit' is NOT my job. Find something you know a lot about, find things the article about that subject is missing, and then add those facts. Use the internet and the public library, or books you own on the subject, to cite sources for the information you add. That's how Wikipedia works. But you already know this, you just choose to ignore it. ThuranX 05:31, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

- I have significant reason to believe you're a troll, that is, an experienced wikipedia editor who knows that his/her contributions are deliberately hostile and disruptive. I did not tell you to "go read soomething", I told you to specifically go read the basic 'How To' articles for Wikipedia so that you can help out on the spiderman 3 page. Instead, you've asked ridiculous questions repeatedly, like 'will we get to see spiderman have sex' and 'will captain america fight venom' and so on, always prefaced with a 'i heard this, is it true that', so that you can deny responsibility for the 'rumors'. If you're this unwilling to do ANYTHING to learn to become a better editor, then all I can say is good luck on Wikipedia, and goodbye. ThuranX 12:47, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

With regards to your comments on Talk:Spider-Man 3: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. - Please stop. If you continue to make personal attacks on other people as you did at User talk:222.152.186.32, you will be blocked for disruption. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Thank you. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 16:30, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Spider-Man 3. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.
