Talk:Bognor Regis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Is there really an place in Jamaica called Bognor.?This is the 2nd time an unamed user has added it and wiped out any reference to the English town.Vandalism.?I don`t know Jamaica so I want to be sure before I revert...

- Much searching has resulted in not a trace of the supposed Jamaican Bognor. The juvenile nonsense of the entire addition ("no-one is allowed in our out and if someone dies, someone has to born to make up for it") suggests that it is indeed pure vandalism devoid of facts. -- A Bognorian that really should create an account 14:56, 19 May 2004 (UTC)
Thanks I was too cautious.I used to live in Bognor myself, hence my interest.Andycjp20/5/04
The article seems very disjointed and somewhat POV. Perhaps someone with more interest might do something to improve it? Peter Shearan 06:06, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
claremont ? great undiscovered pub ? we all know its there we just choose to ignore it on account of it being a dive.
[edit] Panda Free
Does it really need to be there?
Yes, it does. Weebls-Stuff is a well known site and the latest cartoon has a major reference to Bognor Regis.
- I was questioning the statement's encyclopedic value. It is written as if it was a fact.ParsifalTG
- Anyway, I've changed the wording.
"Bognor Regis has also been mentioned in the cartoon Cucumbers by a well known website Weebl's Stuff, where it was cited as being "Panda-free" "
If there are any objections, please state them now or we can consider this issue resolved. ParsifalTG
I still can't see the relevance to a page about Bognor, a link back (from Weebl's Stuff) to these pages might well be in order but not an external link out, sorry. (SouthernElectric 17:06, 10 September 2007 (UTC))
- Reference removed, just because something has been mentioned in print, TV, or website it doesn't mean it should be within an encyclopedia, as I said above, the 'fact' might be notable (and that, IMO, is still debatable) to the article about Weebl's Stuff but that doesn't mean that it's notable to an article about Bognor. [edit] Picture
Do we really think the picture of an ambulance crew attending to a stricken resident is really representative of Bognor high street? Should it be deleted or replaced with something more apt?
I agree, do we really need to see some poor person who is injured, I do not personally believe it shows much of the High Street either, it is basically just an ambulance. (Spiritofsussex 08:47, 29 August 2007 (UTC))
I agree, the picture either needs changing or deleting (SouthernElectric 12:06, 10 September 2007 (UTC))
- I've replaced this image now, with a 1947 OS map from within Wiki for now, hopefully a better image will be sourced. (SouthernElectric 23:46, 10 October 2007 (UTC)) Up dated / edited 00:06, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Transport
Not sure why the A27 is mentioned, the road does not pass through the town and is thus not a direct route into the town, perhaps it would be better mentioned within the comments regarding the A29 which it crosses at Fontwell
- Now included within the description of the A29. (SouthernElectric 22:56, 14 September 2007 (UTC))
Also, mention should be made regarding the mid-sussex railway route, the Arun Valley Line , as many trains from Bognor to London are routed via that line. (SouthernElectric 12:06, 10 September 2007 (UTC))
