Bogatyr Access Komir is the largest mining group in Kazakhstan accounting for 35% of the country's coal output. In 2006 the company produced 41.6 million tonnes of coal.
In 1985 the Bogatyr Mine produced 56.8 million tonnes of coal thus entering the Guinness Book of World Records for being the world's largest single coal mine.
