Bogalusa High School is the high school of the Bogalusa City Schools district. It is located in Bogalusa, Louisiana, United States.

[edit] Schedule Information
Bogalusa High School uses a 4 Hour "block" Schedule. Classes last roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes and last one semester. Students are given the opportunity during the semester change to switch elective classes for the rest of the year.

On Tuesday April 17, a day after the Virginia Tech Massacre a Bogalusa man passed a note to a Bogalusa student making threatening remarks about a mass killing similar to the incident at Virginia Tech.[1]
[edit] Technology Courses
Bogalusa High School is one of the schools in the nation now adapting to online courses, which are currently limited to LVS Algebra, which is done with miscellaneous machinery and a site named Blackboard. LVS Algebra is an optional course to those who wish to join it, and currently has a vast majority of students enrolled into it. Recently, a student was thought to have brought gun on the BHS campus his intentions unknown.

Bogalusa High school is also home to the JROTC "Lumberjack Battalion." The school currently holds the "Honor Unit with Distinction" award. The school colors are the colors of the senior ropes, and they are an Army JROTC organization. They also have 3 different afterschool teams: Drill Team, Rifle Team, and Color Guard.

The Drill Team is divided into two sections: Armed Drill Team, in which each cadet who is in it receives a rifle to maneuver with, and Unarmed Drill Team, which excels in marching maneuvers. The Drill Team competition sector holds 13 spaces: 12 for the cadets who maneuver, and 1 for the commander who calls orders. Each section of the team has the same number of competition spaces. Drill Team is identified in uniform by red ropes worn on the shoulder; Armed having a thick one, and Unarmed having a thin one. The current commanders of the Drill Teams are James Roberts and Stephen Sieger. We just started up two exhibition teams,Unarmed exhibition and armed exhibition.The current commanders of the Exhibition teams are Jeremy Ybarzabal and Danica Caldwella.

The Color Guard of Bogalusa High School shows revrence to the American flag and the Bogalusa High School flag. It also features cadets who use rifles, and it's competition sector holds 4 spaces for cadets, the commander taking action in one of them. Color Guard is identified in uniform by white ropes worn on the shoulder. The current commander of Color Guard are Cemantha Fenley.

The Rifle Team is the pride of the Lumberjack Battalion, currently the best in the nation. The competition sector holds 12 spaces,they are a team that shoots more than maneuvers. Rifle Team is identified in uniform by tan ropes worn on the shoulder. The commander of Rifle Team is Brandon Landrum.
