The last paragraph has some grammatical errors that make it pretty nonsensical. Is there anybody who knows anything about Boethius of Dacia who can rewrite it? Audiosqueegee 04:20, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Well, I wrote it, and I've reread it; I can't see any grammatical errors. Could you be more specific? --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 14:30, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

He was not a swedish philospher, but a danish! [Kim Boje Thomsen, Copenhagen, Denmark]

Give a reputable citation that supports this claim; every source at which I've looked calls him Swedish. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 21:24, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Sten Ebbesen is a Danish philologist. You can see his list of publications here: [1]. As you can see he has published many articles about Boethius de Dacia. He has written a book called "Dansk middelalderfilosofi" (ISBN 8700762946) which translates "Danish Medieveal Philosophy". I don't have the book at hand, but it includes a chapter about Boethius de Dacia (Dacia means Denmark in Latin, by the way). Proof enough? --NuclearWarhead 20:50, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

It seems to me that Boethius is a rare case of nationalist historiography in Scandinavia, where Swedes and Danes each try to claim him as their own. I seem to recall Nationalencyklopedin listing him as Swedish for example. My suggestion is to rewrite the article to reflect the ambiguity concerning his origins.
