This article is necessarily speculative, but this section takes the cake:

There are several rumors floating around aviation message boards regarding Y1 and its appearance. Some feel that Y1 will be similar, if not the same, as the current 737, only with composite structures and new efficient engines.
Others believe Boeing is going with a high wing design, similar to that of the C-17. There have been rumors of a patent submitted by Boeing regarding an aircraft of this type.
The third group believes that Boeing will go with a T-Tailed, rear-mounted engine design, similar to that of the MD-80 and Boeing 717. This configuration would phase out the 717, MD-80, and the EMB-145, as well as compete with the Airbus NSR. Whether Boeing would go for such a radical change to the 737 remains to be seen.

The main reason being that Boeing's website contains absolutly no information about any "Yellowstone Project"

[edit] Key group of customers

The Financial Times informed that Boeing would have formed a group to evaluate this concept. The group of key customers would include American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Ryanair and Gol Transportes Aéreos.

Is there any source for this group of airlines, or is it just speculation based on major 737 operators? Nick Moss 08:56, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

American Airlines was recently added to the list by an editor on that basis. Agree we need more concrete source for this. - BillCJ 15:16, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
