[edit] General information
The school serves Kendall County and the surrounding areas of IH-10 such as Fair Oaks Ranch, Cordillerra, Bergheim and Sisterdale. Boerne is known for its academics and athletics.[citation needed]
Boerne scores higher than both state and national averages on every test, including the ACT and TAKS, specifically in the 2005-2006 year, when the school was "Recognized" for its performance on the TAKS test. Students are offered many opportunities to participate in various sports and organizations and due to the friendly atmosphere at the high school, almost all of the students are involved in at least one activity. Students and faculty are often awarded for their great achievements.[citation needed]
