Bodhinyana Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Western Australia, from the Theravada tradition, more specifically the Forest Sangha tradition.

The current abbot of Bodhinyana Monastery is Ajahn Brahm. Venerable Ajahn Brahmavamso Mahathera (known to most as Ajahn Brahm) was born Peter Betts in London, United Kingdom in August 7, 1951. He received a a Phd in Theoretical Physics at Cambridge University in the late 1960s.[1] After graduating from Cambridge he taught in high school for one year before travelling to Thailand to become a monk and train with the Venerable Ajahn Chah Bodhinyana Mahathera. [2]

Bodhinyana Monastery is located in Serpentine, Western Australia, Australia. It is about 60 minutes drive away from Perth[1].

Bodhinyana Monastery is a branch monastery in the tradition of Venerable Ajahn Chah. It was established to provide a place where candidates can train for ordination as Buddhist monks.
Limited amounts of Laypeople can also stay at the monastery, to practise meditation and help out at the monastery. Food is provided by the alms-givers and there is no monetary charge whatsoever.
