Boca Ciega High School

Boca Ciega High School is a high school located in southern Pinellas County, Florida and is part of Pinellas County Schools. Boca Ciega High School is located in Gulfport, Florida on the St. Petersburg Florida city line.. Boca Ciega was built in 1955 in an open air style of campus. Construction on a new school began in August of 2008. Former Principal John Leanes began the plans towards a new school and current Principal Paula Gene-Nelson continues to push forward the new plans of a new school. Boca Ciega is commonly referred to as Bogie by the community and former students and staff. Bogie has one of the most active and largest high school alumni associations in the United States.

The movie Porky's was based on actual occurrences at Boca Ciega High School and Fort Lauderdale High School in the early 1960's, and on a joint called Porky's in Oakland Park, Florida.

Notable alumni include Oscar nominated actress Angela Bassett, Naval hero William Trippett, NFL player Darren Howard, and comedian Cristina Rondolino.
