Božena Angelova

Božena Angelova (1981-) in Maribor is a Slovenian violinist. She has recorded for the Slovenian Broadcasting Company.

She was taught the violin from age 7 by her father, then in 1994 studied at the Kaerntner Landeskonservatorium in Klagenfurt, Austria where she obtained her music degree in 2001 with distinction. She later studied at University of Bern in Switzerland under Igor Ozim, and in 2003 at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.
She has considerable experience with orchestras such as the Maribor Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kaerntner Symphony Orchestra (Austria) and the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and has been the recipient of the Slovenia National Music Award four times [1]. Angelova has also won several international competitions like the "Alpe Adria" in Italy and came in second place at the "Johannes Brahms" violin competition in Austria. She is also a recipient of Bled Contemporary Music Festival Award.
