I have tagged the article for copyediting, as the syntax, grammar and punctuation are in need of significant improvement. It also lacks citations.

An anon IP editor wishes to add http://www.metacafe.com/watch/40935/bmw_from_hell/ to this article, which is not encyclopedia-related and not directly related to the subject, since it does not represent any of BMW's current or former motorsport programs. You misrepresented it; below is how it appears. The resolution of this depends on whether "Motorsport" is a generally descriptive term or means "factory sponsored racing efforts." -68.214.246.183 21:10, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
- How is that "misrepresenting it"? Wait for consensus. "BMW Motorsport" means exactly what it says, as per this entire series of articles: BMW's direct participations in professional motorsport, ie. national and international touring cars, Formula1, the Dakar, Formula BMW, and so on. However, as I have stated elsewhere, I think this article should be renamed "BMW in motorsport" (akin to Alfa Romeo in motorsport and Porsche in motorsport) and encompass the entirety of BMW's involvement in motor sport. -- DH85868993 02:43, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- But that should not include amateur racing. Besides, this is about the content of that link. External links must be: accessible; directly related to the subject of the article; non-commercial; and encyclopedically valuable. This fails on three of those counts: it is not accessible, because it relies on Javascript; it is not directly related to this article; and it fails to provide suitable content. If it was a website or webpage that was focussed on, say, the PROCAR series, that would be a great addition. This, however, would be better placed in, for example, an article about performance modification. I have provided a place for such votes to be made. Adrian M. H. 13:10, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- In response to the edit summary by 68.221.1.40: No, I think you need to read up on 3RR. Three reverts are permitted in any 24 hour period. I made three reverts. Simple. End of. Now why can you not wait for consensus to decide whether that non-accessible video clip of a car that has nothing to do with BMW Motorsport or BMW's motorsport programs is worth having? Huh? Rather than quoting policy at experienced editors and getting your facts wrong in the process? I see that someone added similar content to Volkswagen and you reverted another editor's removal of it without even discussing civilly with him (I checked his talk page and that of the article) to find out why it was removed. I like those videos, but imo these links just aren't appropriate. They don't comply with WP:EL and they don't add any valuable information. So my vote is discard (per above).--BSI 15:42, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Can I recommend a possible format for this page? Instead of the fairly random layout what about the following sub headings:
- Sportscar/GT Racing
- Touring Car racing
- PROCAR
- Rallying/Paris-Dakar
- Le Mans
- Formula 1
- F2
- Formula BMW
- Other
Within each heading information regarding the cars, drivers of note, and relative success?
