X5 for the poor person? And Rolls Royce is business jet for low class? X3 is different class than X5, nothing bad on being a bit smaller. Things are not measured by rule bigger = allways better. Besides, X3 sells in Europe far better than X5 did even when price overlaps with X5. It is even bigger inside (interior) than X5.
