The BMW Z2 (chassis code BMW E82/2) is a proposed new two-seater automobile from BMW. The car is expected to be available in 2010 (model year 2011). Mock-up shots have been released which show a convertible car with similar styling to the BMW Z4, but more compact dimensions.

The base model is expected to have a 110 kW (150 PS/148 bhp) naturally aspirated 1.8L four-cylinder engine. The M model may upgrade that to a turbocharged 210 kW (286 PS/282 bhp) . Other likely features include a sport chassis, dual clutch transmission, 17 and 18-inch (460 mm) alloy rims and the active steering system.

The wheelbase will be 100 mm (3.9 in) shorter than that of BMW Z4, with the overall car length up to 200 mm (7.9 in) shorter. The use of lightweight materials may reportedly lower the car weight to 970 kg (2138 lb). It is expected to cost around $30,000.
