The BMW PGA Championship is an annual men's professional golf tournament on the European Tour. In 2007 a separate BMW Championship will be introduced in the United States as the third of four PGA Tour playoff tournaments for the FedEx Cup.

The European Tour event is played each May over the West Course at Wentworth Club outside London. It was founded in 1955 and was originally the British PGA Championship. Since then it has had several sponsored names, but the phrase "PGA Championship" has usually been included in the name.

The PGA European Tour is headquartered at Wentworth, and the Championship is often regarded as the flagship event on the European Tour as it is the tour's home event and it has usually has the highest prize money of any event which it organises (€4,250,000 in 2006 and €4,350,000 in 2007), though it may be overtaken by the Scottish Open in 2007, depending on what the Pound Sterling / Euro exchange rate is in July. There are however more lucrative events which are part of the tour schedule, including the majors and the World Golf Championship events, but these are organised by other bodies. It is also the European Tour's designated "Premier event" for the purposes of the Official World Golf Rankings, with a minimum of 64 ranking points available to the winner.
