BMO Nesbitt Burns is a Canadian investment firm. Since it's formation in 1912, BMO Nesbitt Burns and its predecessor companies have offered aid to investors in meeting their financial goals. In August 1987 the Bank of Montreal took advantage of new banking regulations to acquire Nesbitt Thomson, one of Canada's oldest stock brokerage firms. In 1994, Nesbitt Thomson merged with securities dealer, Burns Fry Ltd. to become Nesbitt Burns Inc. which emerged as a member organization of BMO Financial Group — one of the largest financial services providers in North America.

In 2007 BMO Nesbitt Burns was ranked as having the number one overall research team,[1] continuing the long tradition of excellence in research. The firm has been ranked first in research in every Brendan Wood International survey since 1981.
