BMG Music Canada was located in Scarborough, Ontario.
When the company merged with Sony Music Canada to create Sony BMG Music Canada Inc. , the new company relocated to Toronto in January 2004.
Previously working for Henri Dès albums, it acquired the Lanoraie-based Interdisc Distribution Inc. to form BMG Québec, in 1990, originally as BMG Musique du Québec with Nicolas Ferrier as the prime mover.

- 1982: Acquires RCA Victor Ltd. to make BMG Music Canada.
- 1983: Acquires RCA Records.
- 1984: Creates a label called Ariola with BMG International, N.V.
- 1990: Acquires Interdisc Distribution Inc. to form BMG Québec.
- 2004: Merges with Sony Music Canada.
