[edit] WPUKgeo quality=B

I have upgraded the article from stub class to B; I think it would do well at a GA review.

These are some recommendations for improvement:
  • ampersands shouldn't be used Y Done
  • sources should include the dates they were written, when posible Y Done
  • see Dash for the correct use of dashes, as there are three different kinds of dashes depending on the use. This will need to be fixed before the article could ever reach FA. Y Done
I'm pretty sure i've got them all. Dbam Talk/Contributions 17:45, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
  • the linking of dates is incorrect. Only link dates with the day, month and year or with the day and month. Years on their own shouldn't be linked. Y Done
  • there should be 'non-breaking spaces' between numbers and units. These kind of spaces can be placed by typing  . Y Done
I've done most of these, but i'm not sure what to do when numbers are written out (eg. three million tons). Does this use a non-breaking space, and if so, should there be one between the "three" and the "million"? Dbam Talk/Contributions 17:31, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Non-breaking spaces aren't needed when numbers are written in words. Epbr123 18:58, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
  • If possible include ethnicity, religion and age distribution under demographics Y Done
I've included the stats suggested so I think this one can be considered "Done" for now, but i'll try to expand the section further when I have time. Dbam Talk/Contributions 17:45, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
  • A lot of people don't like seeing lists in non-list articles. Maybe the schools list could be moved into an article listing the schools in Northumberland. Also, external links should only be in the External Links section. Y Done
  • The dates in the references also need to be wikilinked. Epbr123 18:43, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
OK, thanks for pointing that out. Dbam Talk/Contributions 19:09, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Schools list removed from article

I have removed the "list of schools" table from the article, per the above recommendation. I've placed it here for the time being, until it, or at least the info it contains, can maybe be put to use elsewhere. Dbam Talk/Contributions 14:55, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GAC review

The article is very good, but I have placed the review on hold as these need fixing:

  • Y Done There needs to be a geography section giving details on nearby towns, suburbs, co-ordinates, rivers, geology and climate.
I've found very little so far relating to the geology of the area, but this is something i'll work on in future. Some of the info i've added came from the books listed at the bottom, i'll cite the specific pages (for the whole article, that is) once i've looked into the best way of doing this. Dbam Talk/Contributions 22:24, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
  • Y Done Only full dates or dates with a day and a month should be linked. Decades and centuries don't need linking.
  • Y Done PDF sources need a "format=PDF" parameter in their citation template. Epbr123 19:51, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Good work, pass! I think it's not too far from FA level now. Some lighter pictures would be better, and some metric measurements need to be accompanied by imperial equivalents. Epbr123 10:56, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Catholic Schools

Why aren't the Roman Catholic schools mentioned? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.60.11.130 (talk) 15:56, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, an oversight on my part. I've updated the article to take into account the RC schools. Dbam Talk/Contributions 20:02, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
