Reference conversion

I noticed you sometimes make edits such as [1], [2] and [3], where you convert from bare references to <ref>{{cite web | ...}}</ref> format. Do you have a tool to help you do this? - Samsara (talkcontribs) 11:04, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Picture

Sorry to bother you but I was wondering. I want to add a picture to the Tagalog Fra Lippo Lippi page I made. I scanned the picture from their album "Light and Shade" but instead of scanning the front side of the album cover, I scanned the rear cover of the inlay booklet. Is this all right? At your convenience, you can leave your answer here or in my either of my talk pages. Thanks. Doberdog 04:13, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

If you want to illustrate the album, it is best to use the front cover. Well, you can only use the rear cover only on the article or section that is discussing the album inlay itself. --bluemask (talk) 05:23, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Bea Alonzo

Excuse me again, Bluemask. But do you know what happened to the English Bea Alonzo page? It seems to be deleted. Thanks in advance. Doberdog 00:22, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Uh... it's still there? --bluemask (talk) 06:24, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah. Sorry about that. False alarm. I tried loading the page yesterday and what I got was a page that told me the Bea Alonzo page doesn't exist and that it might have been deleted. I checked the deletion logs and contacted the person whose name was on the log. He suggested that I purge my cache and well, the problem was solved. Again, sorry for the confusion. Phil maps are shared

Bay,

Thanks for the info. I did not know that that was already done. That means that I need not upload it myself. ;) Salamat! --Bentong Isles 11:56, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Let's vote for Mariano Trias

Hey there Bluemask! I would like to ask for your vote for the article of Mariano Trias in Wikipedia's Article Creation and Improvement Drive. It's nearing it's deadest deadline.

I believe that this article still needs a bit of clean-up and expansion. I hope you would vote for the article in this link as soon as possible.

Thanks a lot!!! ---- Kevin Ray 13:57, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

For the Cause (DS9 episode)

Hi. I recently exapanded the article for For the Cause (DS9 episode), and included several sources, but they do not appear on the bottom of the article as External links, and clicking on them has no effect at all. Can you help me out here, or recommend an admin who's part of the WikiTrek Project? Thanks, and if you celebrate Christmas, then Happy Holidays. :-) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nightscream (talkcontribs) 06:17, 23 December 2006 (UTC).

User:Inkani's photos

I saw you've tagged one of the photos at Abahlali baseMjondolo as unsourced/no copyright info. I've been working with the user to get these tagged, and in my talk, the user said that the photos were all his. Am I right in thinking that I shouldn't tag the pictures for the user, as I can't decide for them which license to release their work under? Also, does their claiming to be the creator of the works on my talk page change their status at all? Smmurphy(Talk) 15:09, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Let the user decide if he/she wants to release the images under a free license. If the user decise not to release them under a free license, the images will not be usable for wikipedia and will be candidates for speedy deletion. --bluemask (talk) 07:21, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Permission in an email

Hi,

I have uploaded an image for the "campaign for one million signatures." I have emailed them and they told me that I can use any of the content on their website (they are not very formal about it since copyright is not always very serious in Iran yet). I was wondering if this is enough or do you need something else. thank you --Definite 21:27, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I am forwarding your query at the Wikipedia:Media copyright questions page. Please read the replies there. --bluemask (talk) 02:43, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Images

Thanks for uploading the images of the following persons: Maricel Soriano, Albert Martínez, Gretchen Barretto, Edu Manzano, Carlene Aguilar, Unnur Birna Vilhjálmsdóttir, Precious Lara Quigaman, Claudine Barretto, Rico Yan, Benigno Aquino, Jr., Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Julia Clarete, Korina Sanchez, Nikki Gil, Kaycee Stroh, Iya Villania (1) (2) and Willie Revillame. I noticed that most of the images are in low resolution and some are pixelated. Since you indicated that you made all those images yourself, can you upload the high-resolution versions of the images? The articles about these persons will be better if we will use high resolution images.

Thanks. --bluemask (talk) 09:30, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

I dont have any higher resolutions with this pictures... thanks...!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Palito1212 (talkcontribs) 2007-06-16T09:50:08
May I ask why? You made them; you are the photographer, right? --bluemask (talk) 09:56, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
My dad is the photographer, i have asked permission to him if I can use it and he answered yes, clear? --Palito1212
You should indicate in your uploads who is the photographer, in these cases, the name of your dad. This is to acknowledge correctly the original photographer or maker of the image. Go on, put it in the image description.
Since, the photographer is your dad, you can ask him for the original high resultion versions, right? --bluemask (talk) 10:12, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
No! Because my dad is in Manila, and I'm here at Lian, Batangas I'm getting some pictures in him in the internet. I mean kumukuha ako sa kanya nang picture kapag nakakachat ko sya sa internet, nagyon kausap ko siya sa internet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Palito1212 (talkcontribs) 2007-06-16T10:18:39
Can you ask him to upload the original high resolution versions of the images instead? Naka-internet naman siya, di ba? But in the mean time, you should properly acknowledge your dad as the photographer by placing his name on the images that he took as a sign of thanks. Take note, Father's Day bukas. --bluemask (talk) 10:24, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Section break

Thank you for helping me to put proper tags on images I've inserted for articles of Diana Zubiri, Angel Locsin, and Pauleen Luna. The reason why I did this to make them recognise to the Wikipiedia readers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nurikane (talkcontribs) 2007-06-20T14:57:49

Thank you for your message. I hope I was able to follow your recommendations. But can you please kindly check if I did it correctly? And let me know?... I also tried to apply the recommendation to some of the other images. I will continue reviewing the rest. Regards,Dragonbite 22:20, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Just an additional note (whew). Retagged almost all images. Was glad I learned upload images but was not really expecting that tagging and licensing will be so complicated (whew again). I hope I did all of them correctly this time. Dragonbite 00:41, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Here is a Philippine Barnstar for you, Bluemask. Because of you, Wikipedia now have two free images for the Kuh Ledesma article. Dragonbite 02:07, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Guji Lorenzana Image

LMPhilippines is the company that manages the career of Guji Lorenzana. The photo is property of Lukas Music Philippines (LMP) and is used in all our promo packages. How do we copyright that photo as our own on our Wikipedia site? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.128.54.78 (talkcontribs) 2007-06-26T12:44:10

on neutrality

You undid the entry: "The term Ilocos Region promotes the wrong notion that all the residents of Region 1 are Ilocanos." in the article page "Ilocos Region". It is a fact that a lot of people get the impression that the inhabitants of Ilocos Region are Ilocanos. It is even taught in some textbooks in the Philippines. I do not understand how the entry should be deleted, when it is an important fact. I am a Toon Pangasinan. There are countless of times that I am mistaken for an Ilocano because I come from "Ilocos region". You have to accept this fact. You can easily make a survey in the Philippines and ask "who are the inhabitants of Ilocos Region?" and if they answer Ilocano, then ask them "why they think so?".

I do not understand how other entries could be allowed such as: "The region is also rich in crafts, with renowned blanket-weaving and pottery. Their burnay pottery is well known for its dark colored clay." There are premises hidden in the entry that can be seen from the words "renowned" and "well known". These descriptions are assumed to be facts; but they are not facts, they are only being presented as facts. If these are assumptions, and you are strict with the guidelines of the wikipedia, then these should be edited as they are not based on a third person research. 218.221.37.101 09:20, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

If the statement have a citation and worded in a neutral way, the statment stays. All other statements can be re-written in a neutral way too. --bluemask (talk) 15:09, 7 July 2007 (UTC)

How to fix it

To keep your monobook.js out of Category:Unassessed biography articles replace:

assessmentMyTemplateCode = ["{{WPBiography|class=|importance=}}",
"{{Album|class=|importance=|attention=|needs-infobox=}}",
"{{Wikipedia:Tambayan Philippines/notice|class=|importance=}}"
];

with:

 assessmentMyTemplateCode = ["{"+"{WPBiography|class=|importance=}}",
"{{Album|class=|importance=|attention=|needs-infobox=}}",
"{{Wikipedia:Tambayan Philippines/notice|class=|importance=}}"
];

Hope this helped; for any questions drop a note on my talk page. Psychless 16:52, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

When is an image replaceable?

Simple: a fair use image can be replaced if a free equivalent exists and is uploaded here. If you can provide one, please do. But if you don't have a replacement, leave it alone! It's really irritating when you take your time to find good images, and later find them deleted by someone who did not offer anything better to put on their place. -- Stormwatch 03:00, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the Image:Joey De Leon.jpg thingie, sorry for that; I just can't think of a way to make it a valid fair-use image, so I apologize for my mistake... Blake Gripling 23:41, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Bălţi (Moldovan city) translation

Dear Bluemask, could you please help to translate at least couple of sentences on Bălţi, city in Moldova. I have posted an intial page in English hoping that you will at least write how Bălţi is spelled, but you have deleted it. I am sure it is just a misunderstanding. Thank you for your professionalism. You can always e-mail me should you have any questions. Vistanevista —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vistanevista (talkcontribs) 09:02, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

I have seen, you handled 121.1.61.194 on tlwiki, but there are many more articles on other wikipedias. It would be kind of you to have a look at [4] and [5] — and to tell me if you see similar IPs/Users. Greetings, ttbya 17:23, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Dude, heads up, I think it's been nominated for speedy deletion. I'm not sure what can/should be done with it to make it better.

Block/unblock

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

block of 125.60.189.62 lifted or expired. IP address evidently not as static as was thought.

Request handled by: Angus McLellan (Talk) 10:57, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Someone might want to unblock that IP too. Looks like it's not so static. ;) The Evil Spartan 05:43, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
I've contacted the blocking admin, please stand by SQLQuery me! 10:07, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Just to let everyone know, I have no problem with the unblock of the IP. Sorry about the inconvenience, Bluemask. There is a note on my talk page with a few details if any of you are interested. --Ed (Edgar181) 12:22, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
