To all the users who are editing this page, a bit ago, i asked an admin to delete the pictures taken from the video posted on youtube of this episode, don't put new ones until Fox releases them or the episode aires, because the video from which this pictures are taken is illegal and thus all derivatives from it are also...I understand that you want to ilustrate this episode (i believe it will be one of the bests of the show) but in wikipedia we follow the rules and the copyright laws.   • Actually, Fox's wishes have nothing to do with the legality of the pictures. The only way wikipedia can use them is under fair use, and you most certainly don't need permission from the rights holder to make a fair use defense. If it would be legal to post without permission from Fox after it has aired, it's legal now. The scene with a rebel trooper pretending to shoot down the Falcon appears to be a reference to a scene with a Laotian solder pretending to shoot down an Air America airplane in the film. Can anyone confirm this? Generalleoff 07:25, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

its the only one in existence so far. although if there are more star wars episodes down the line those could potentially be hour longs as well. Also, there were a couple of previous two part episodes, but in each of those prior cases they were both two individual episodes, unlike this which was just one long one. Grande13

Okay, I'm getting tired of this &%@&. Keep the bullet points for the cultural reference and note sections and, yes, the trivia sections. It just doesn't make sence to me that we have to make a paragraph out of the references. I just don't get it. They usally don't have anything to do with each other, so why try to make a paragraph out of them? I know, I know, "this is an encyclopedia," but why use those types of guidelines for a comedy TV show. Chances are, people who read these articals arn't looking for an encyclopedia-like article; they're looking for an up-to-date, acurate, clean, and easy to read articles about a show with a talking dog and a baby who can bloody TALK!!! These articals are about a show that has a talking dog &%$@%&$ human women and a gay talking baby that is trying to rule the world and kill his mom! I get that some of the guidelines are important, but there is a notice that the plot for this epidode is to long. What the &@%&! Censorship is a bit strong. The episode had to fit into a proscribed time format. FCC regulations, thanks to the Super Bowl "wardrobe failure", will heavily fine tv networks for inappropriate whatever. So if it is censorship, it's self-censorship based on the court-recognized 'obscenity' exception to the First Amendment. You can legally rip the DVD to your computer and iPod using iTunes. I find it odd that there is no mention of it already in the article and ask about it before I add it myself. Today Jim Gianopulos, Chairman & CEO of Fox, came out on stage during the MacWorld 2008 Steve Jobs Keynote and talks about it. It should be worth noting that you can also do the exact same thing with any Windows PlaysForSure device/system, or even just on to your personal computer. A window pops up on your computer when you insert the disc (at least under Windows it does) and presents you with the option of either (WMP or iTunes). [edit] The "1-15-08 Update"

There was some kind of "update" under the list of references saying there was no preview for "Something, Something, Something Dark Side" included on the DVD. That doesn't seem possible, because I saw a preview on Youtube, and it seemed too efficient to be fake. Maybe someone expected an actual preview, but the DVD description called this feature a "teaser" rather than an actual "preview." [edit] Adding more members to the cast list

In this episode there is a Stormtrooper who, after hearing a noise Obi-Wan presumably made and thinking it's probably just another drill, talks about how he once was about to finally "bone [his] girlfriend" (don't balme me for the offensive term; this is what he actually said), then hearing that there was this drill and saying his girlfriend told him that "there was no way." This character sounds exactly like the interviewee in the episode "Boys Do Cry" who claimed to have seen Bigfoot. I'm not sure about this, but I found some websites that claim his name is "RJ." Do you suppose we should put him under "minor characters" on the cast list? Also, should we add Al Harrington, the guy from that annoying commercial, to the list as "Darth Harrington?" [edit] Nod to Mel Brooks movie "Blazing Saddles"?

When Chris's Luke Skywalker character mentions John Williams, and the camera cuts right to the orchestra there on the set, it reminded me very much of the scene in Mel Brooks' comedy movie "Blazing Saddles" in which Cleavon Little's character is riding on horseback alone through the desert to accompanying background music, and he rides right past the Count Basis Orchestra on a stage playing that music, out where you would never expect to see them.

The similarity in the two scenes is so strong that I am inclined to believe that one of the writers for "Blue Harvest" 'borrowed' the idea of a live orchestra on a movie set from the Brooks movie, and that's OK as far as I am concerned.

Just an aside, when Peter is talking about the 'lessons learned' from the story, he mentions the genius of retaining marketing rights, or something. This is essentially Yoghurt's notion in Mel Brook's Spaceballs. Casting Stewie as Vader was not only natural, but played to the anti-stereotype of the villain being neither tall nor imposing, as did Brook's casting of Rick Moranis as "Dark Helmut". --Otheus (talk) 02:52, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

While doing a drive-by edit of this article, I found this line uncomfortably wedged in at the top of the Cultural References section. The image you show does not really indicate what they were trying to do with the piss-take on Dr who. It wasn't the stars streaking, but rather the tunnel effect when the Falcon is in hyperspace resembling the slit scan dr who opening titles. Under the cultural references section in the discussion of "don't get cocky/penisy" the word "cocky" is linked to the wiki article on cock, while the word "penisy" links to penis.
