Blues Saraceno

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blues Saraceno (born October 17, 1971) is an American rock guitarist and music producer from Connecticut. Saraceno in Italian means "Arab".

Saraceno was discovered by Guitar for the Practicing Musician magazine, which assisted him in releasing instrumental recordings on an independent basis. Saraceno also produces for some artists, such as Scott Caan of Dallas 362, Eric Balfour of Fredalba, Lindsay Price's solo releases, Anthony Michael Hall, Brad Cohen of The Woods, and Brian Price, and has composed music for many famous television shows and movies, such as Friends, The Osbournes and more.

In 1994, he filled in as lead guitarist for Poison, after guitarist Richie Kotzen was fired. Saraceno's playing was recorded for the Poison album Crack a Smile. However, he was replaced for the return of the band's original guitarist, C. C. DeVille. The album was later released under the name Crack a Smile... And More, and includes fifteen tracks recorded by Saraceno and five songs taken from the band's old recordings featuring DeVille.

In 2002, he founded the band Transmission OK, in which he played guitar, sang and wrote the songs. "I never set out to be a guitar hero", he wrote in his personal web page in reference to the full range of duties he did on that album.

Yamaha guitars made a signature model for Saraceno during the early 90s. It was based on RGZ series and the model name was RGZ820R [1]. This guitar was featuring a reverse headstock, watermelon plaid top, no pickguard, basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, 2 x DiMarzio custom humbucker pickups, a Yamaha licensed Floyd Rose tremolo and black hardware.

Later on, for the Hairpick album and during a tour with Poison, he used a signature model by Samick which he designed that also featured a plaid pattern. Samick then released two different models called TV Twenty and Radio Ten.

He is currently using Ernie Ball Music Man gold sparkle "Albert Lee" model guitar which was build for him by the Ernie Ball custom shop [1] with Ernie Ball Slinkys 0.010" strings on it.

Saraceno also has a signature made Trembucker Pickup made for him by Seymour Duncan.
