Bluebox Limited Films is a film production company based in Bettendorf, Iowa and is headed by young filmmakers Scott Beck & Bryan Woods. While the pair now works in Los Angeles, Beck & Woods have been writing, directing, and producing films since 1996. To date, they have produced 14 shorts, 4 feature-length films, and garnered success with Project Greenlight and MTV Films.

The River Cities' Reader states, "Bryan Woods and Scott Beck are too young to be this good."

Their work has received national attention, screening at festivals across the country and winning several awards. Their latest film, The Bride Wore Blood, premiered in November 2006 to a sold-out crowd at the Putnam IMAX.

Beck & Woods placed in the Top 50 Director’s competition in the Project Greenlight contest, representing 3% of the total contestants. Project Greenlight was created by Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, and is sponsored by Miramax Studios and the Bravo Channel. The Top 50 were chosen from over 1,700 candidates, all of which submitted a 3-minute scene to demonstrate directorial talent.

That same year, directors Joel Schumacher (The Phantom of the Opera) and Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting) selected Beck & Woods’ short film Shades as a Top 3 Finalist in the mtvU Best Film on Campus competition.

Beck & Woods recently secured a development deal with MTV Films after winning mtvU's Best Film on Campus competition the following year. Their film University Heights was chosen by hundreds of thousands of online voters, MTV Films executives and Hollywood directors John Singleton (Boyz N the Hood), Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen) and Nicole Kassell (The Woodsman). University Heights also aired on the mtvU Channel which reaches 6.5 million students at 750 colleges nationwide.1
